Research about HumicLIFE*
The efficacy of Humic Acid against Influenza viruses
In 2001 and 2002 an extensive study was conducted by a branch of NIH which tested the efficacy and impact of humic acid against a wide range of viruses, including nine different strains of Influenza, Herpes simplex I and II, and others. Four types of humic acid, both natural and three synthetic, were tested and were found to be effective in viral reduction and showed potential as a protective element. The natural source of humic acid demonstrated that it suppressed viral reproduction and had potential as a preventative.
The NIH study presents the results of toxicology, cell proliferation, and efficacy testing work carried out on the type of Humic Acid found in HumicLIFE™ by contract with University laboratories under the direct supervision of the Virology Branch of the Antiviral Research and Anti–microbial Chemistry Program, Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID) Screening and Testing Program for Antiviral, Immunomodulatory, Anti–tumor and/or Drug Delivery Activities, National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), under the auspices of the National Institutes of Health (NIH, Bethesda, Maryland).
The four types of Humic acid were evaluated for efficacy by NIH against three substrains of H1N1 strains of influenza: New Caledonia/20/99; NWS/33; and PR/8/34. The swine flu is a new H1N1 substrain for which humic acid has yet to be evaluated. However, the fact that humic acid was shown to be effective against three substrains of influenza A H1N1, three substrains of H3N2, and three substrains of influenza B suggests that it will also be effective against the swine flu H1N1 substrain.
The humic acid showed impact upon the viral load within 25 minutes by limiting the viral reproduction. This 25–min response time for a viral fusion inhibitor is INCREDIBLY fast, and indicates that humic acid acts essentially upon contact with viruses.
Remember: humic acid DOES NOT KILL viruses — it simply prevents them from reproducing by acting as a viral prophylactic and keeping the viruses from fusing to and invading healthy cells. [see How Humic Flu works] The special blend of humic acid and fulvic acid also helps the cells release toxins and offers critical nutrition by providing minerals. In the case of viral infection, the viral fusion inhibition provided by the presence of humic acid helps limit viral reproduction and allows the immune system to fight infection and rebuild itself naturally.
*The name HumicFlu has been substituted for the trademarked name of the specially treated proprietary blend of humic and fulvic acids that are used in EmPower4Health products.
